This of course is from David Burge’s Car ID Service, one of the most fun things on Twitter and elsewhere these days (and Twitter could use many more.)
The photo appears at my page on the Congressional Airport, and has been on this site since its launch in 2004. The fact that the car dates from 1929-31 squares well with the narrative; Chet received his pilot’s license after training at Congressional on 1 July 1930, but gravitated away from that facility, first to Washington-Hoover Airport and then to College Park Airport.
